Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Creamy macaroni and cheese is a timeless indulgence, cherished for its velvety texture and rich, smooth flavor. This style typically features a luscious cheese sauce that coats each noodle with decadence. The cheese sauce is often made with a combination of cheeses, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère, melted into a creamy base. The result is a luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth experience that makes creamy macaroni and cheese an instant favorite.


Here’s Chef Nate’s Creamy Mac n Cheese Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large elbow noodles

  • 4 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Gruyère, or a combination)

  • ¼ cup parmesan

  • ¼ cup sour cream

  • 2 whisked eggs

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • ½ teaspoon grainy mustard

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Cook the large elbow noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain (do not rinse!) and set aside. Cool on a sheet pan overnight for best results.

  • Bring heavy cream to a simmer and slowly mix in eggs a little at a time to temper.

  • Add mustard, sour cream, and cheddar/Gruyère and season to taste with salt and pepper.

  • Slowly mix until creamy.

  • Incorporate cold elbow noodles gingerly until noodles are coated and brought to a medium heat.

  • Plate and sprinkle with parmesan.
